Renegade Yoga Institute is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School at both the 200-hour and 300-hour levels. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to register as RYT 200 or RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance.

Breath & Bandha Control

Ujjayi Pranayama, Mula/Uddiyana/Jalandhara Bandhas, Drishti, and Mudra — the internal dynamics of asana.

The intention of this yoga is to maximize human potential. Great health and fitness, internal cleansing, de-stressing, and peace of mind are all aspects of this quest — but they are not the foundation or primary purpose. They are the notes, chords, rhythm and melody. Yoga is the song.

This practice is a guidebook for navigating the soul's path and harmonizing with your life's purpose, your underlying Dharma. It speaks the truth at the deepest level, and those who are truly devoted to its practice have an innate understanding of this fact.

Philip has enjoyed a lifelong passion for unlocking and optimizing human potential. With over 30 years of daily hands-on experience, RYI's training is a culmination of decades of work and study that Philip now shares with the next generation of practitioners and teachers.

His expertise in hands-on adjusting, assisting, and posture sequencing is unmatched in the Knoxville area. Even if your path doesn't include teaching, the knowledge acquired deepens your personal practice and body/mind awareness.
